I found this really cute fabric at Joann, and bought what I thought was enough for a standard-sized pillowcase. I knew I was going to the opening edge in a contrasting fabric, like these from Made.
Turns out I did not get enough fabric, so it's a little short all the way around. Luckily we had an IKEA pillow form, and since everything in the store is tiny, it worked out okay.
Now I want more of this fabric for a sheet to match! (These are for the girl, of course.)

Piercing
My blogging absence has no excuse. Just busy, busy - work, swim class, parties, projects. The month of April came and left as quickly as that one, solitary rain shower we had.
One of this week's highlights was a Mother's Day performance by the students at North Austin Montessori. Here is a photo of us after the event, me wearing part of her "costume" (a bird).
Then, in the car, there was this:
After the program we headed to the mall for two EAR PIERCINGS.
One attendant at the Piercing Pagoda meant one ear at a time, but she did great, held still for both and was "BRAVE."
As for crafty excitement, there's been practically none. I'm working on some summer skirts, and in the mean time made my first standard-ish sized pillowcase.
