Treasure Jar

Before

After

The only craft project I could muster after flu week: one empty applesauce jar + paper + gems = Treasure Jar!

Peacock Blues

I want every wall in my home and every item in my closet to be this color. I want to dye my dog this color. That bag? I was going to buy it no matter how ridiculous the price, because I love this color. They are sold out, in THAT COLOR. Shocker.

Women and Tea

“A woman is like a tea bag – you never how strong she is until she gets into hot water.”

Could be (in the mind of a sicko):

A woman is like a tea bag – you never know how hot she is until you grab her.

OR

A woman is like a tea bag – you never know how fragile she is until she busts open and spills her guts out everywhere.

OR

A woman is like a tea bag – you never know how light she is until you try to push her under water.

This is getting too dark and ugly.

A woman is like a tea bag – you never know how dark she is until you let her sit and steep a while…..

Silhouettes

I am so happy to have a new silhouette of my girl, to go alongside the one from when she was a baby. There's really no comparison! I do think she looks a little like me in the top one :-)
PS - the photo on the right of the silhouette, of which you can only see a snippet, is the Kennedy School where Turner and I stayed in Portland, OR when I was four months pregnant with Kennedy. Coincidence?!?! If you're ever in the area, GO TO THERE.

Happy September

I don't know what is more troubling, that during our shoe shopping excursion tonight Kennedy immediately went to the Sketchers brand ("THESE ARE SKETCHERS!") or that she is now in a size 11 shoe. With laces! You might remember a previous post about the tall variety, which she certainly does not need and did not get. These, however, make her run faster, jump higher, and look stylin'.

It is the first day of September and that means that I should quit blogging and return to birthday party preparations and planning for grandmama's visit. Twice a year I wish we had a guest room, and this is one of those times. I did make a cute little nook in the office across from the foldout love seat though:

Isn't it cute? And nookish?
And here are the dogs getting fur all over the office foldout love seat:

Yes that is her tongue....
